Financial Stability Reinsurance

About Us

Royal Palm Insurance Company is a privately held company headquartered in Ormond Beach, Florida. It was founded to meet the needs of Florida property owners caught in the gap as insurance carriers reduce the amount of business they write in the state.

At Royal Palm Insurance, we understand the difficulties that Florida property owners face. We feel the same frustrations and concerns about the instability in the market and the retreat of insurers from the state. We understand how you feel because we live here, too.

Royal Palm writes insurance exclusively in Florida.

Financial strength means we’ll be here when you need us.

To successfully underwrite homeowners’ insurance in Florida, a company must be financially sound and properly reinsured to protect homeowners from multiple catastrophes in one year. Through our surplus and reinsurance programs, Royal Palm is strong enough to insure its policyholders against multiple major hurricanes and other catastrophes in a single year. As an example, in the event the state faces back-to-back hurricane seasons like those of 2004 and 2005, Royal Palm would be able to pay all of its claims and still withstand another hurricane.

An “A” Rating

Royal Palm Insurance has been assigned an “A (Exceptional)” Financial Stability Rating® by Demotech, a well-known rating agency for Property/Casualty insurance companies.

Reinsurance

Reinsurance is exactly what it sounds like: insurance that insurance companies buy for their own protection. As you buy insurance for your home and car, insurance companies buy insurance to protect their financial reserves. By purchasing reinsurance from many different, highly respected companies, Royal Palm diversifies our protection for the benefit of our policyholders.

Royal Palm maintains a conservative and comprehensive reinsurance program provided by some of the world’s top reinsurance companies, all with A.M. Best ratings of A- or better:
